Stilts
Acquire fluidity and confidence; develop a diversified body language on stilts.
With a mix of technique and improvisation, participants will be given tools to evolve their stilt walking. Participants will be taught exercises for falling and getting up gracefully and safely and an emphasis will be placed on partner work, floor work, and choreographic work. This training aims to move away from the conventional stilt walk to deconstruct the verticality of the object and make it an extension of the agile body.
Prerequisites
Ability to walk on stilts unassisted.
Specific requirement(s) for the course
Your own stilts if you have them, comfortable clothes, indoor shoes, and knee protectors.

Simon Durocher-Gosselin
A creator on the lookout for the possibilities that his environment can offer, Simon Durocher-Gosselin explores and amalgamates circus and design techniques, constantly pushing the limits of his inventiveness. In constant search of new challenges, he participates in numerous training courses and workshops in various disciplines such as contemporary dance, trapeze, Chinese mat, and clowning. Following his training as a social circus instructor-trainer at the National Circus School of Montreal, he has been teaching and sharing his passion for movement for 19 years. Active in his field, he participates in various creative projects as a director, performer, and set designer. He has performed in many festivals and special events in Canada and internationally with Cirque du Soleil and the dance company Sursaut, as well as with the creations of LabokracBoom, a company he co-founded.
