Mask and Its Fundamentals
A journey through the art of the mask and its fundamentals. The mask is a liberating and creative art that allows the performer to rediscover the essence of theatrical play. Through a journey that is both rigorous and playful, the participants will be invited to “let themselves be played,” to be surprised by the mask and to let themselves be drawn into its imagination. The work with the mask and the body in space does not only lead to a specialisation but to a deepening of the techniques of acting and interpretation.
Prerequisites
Mastery of acting and interpretation techniques. Good understanding of French

Hugo Bélanger
Hugo Bélanger has been delighting audiences for more than 25 years with shows in which theatricality and inventiveness give way to dreams and poetry. A jack-of-all-trades creator and specialist in mask and physical performance, he creates for the theatre, circus, and opera with equal joy. His artistic signature combines precision of the body with a love for strong and poetic images, and he knows how to touch an audience of all ages and types. Artistic director of the Théâtre Tout à Trac, a company he founded nearly 25 years ago, he creates shows for the general public that have made their mark by winning numerous awards.
He also teaches at the main professional teaching institutions in Quebec, including the National Theatre School of Canada and the National Circus School. He regularly gives master classes around the world.
