MAYDAY repertoire workshop with Anne-Marie Jourdenais.
Designed to allow participants to familiarize themselves with the curiosities and priorities of Mélanie Demers, this workshop is intended to be a real immersion in the MAYDAY universe. The workshop offers tools to explore the questions and intuitions that permeate the company’s repertoire. Directed by Anne-Marie Jourdenais, it will trace the path that leads from the quivering of an idea to the unfolding of a reality. Body work, heart work, voice work, actor work… Creation at MAYDAY is like an equation with multiple variables, impossible to solve without embracing the unknown.

Anne-Marie Jourdenais
A long-time collaborator of Mélanie Demers, Anne-Marie Jourdenais was first a performer in several of her works. Then the work of the eye took precedence over the work of the body and she became rehearsal director at MAYDAY. For more than fifteen years now, her sensitivity and curiosity have raised questions, provoked discussions and give impetus to the company’s creations.
At MAYDAY, we like to say that she is at the same time the right and the left arm, the guardian angel and the devil’s advocate, but above all the “translator”! The one who helps interpreters and collaborators to decode the intuitions and ideas of the choreographer.
In parallel to her career at MAYDAY, Anne-Marie Jourdenais has collaborated with many as a performer as well as a rehearsal director. She has taught dance in various institutions. And, for the past fifteen years, she has dedicated herself to the practice and teaching of and teaching Qi Gong.
