Jester’s play

Introduction to the world of the Jester. The workshop is a theoretical but above all practical overview of the universe of the jester, of mockery, of the grotesque, of mystery, of the marginalized and the abandoned. With the help of suits and stuffings to change the bodies, we propose exercises to start a physical work on the gait and on the (tragic) chorus that a band of jesters can represent. From improvisations and texts already written, we will explore the word and the intelligence that emerges from such a creature. We will question the inversion of power and the spirit of mockery in the 21st century. “What is the difference between the clown and the jester? We laugh at the clown’s stupidity, while the jester laughs at our stupidity. When a clown enters the stage we laugh, when a jester enters the stage we are worried.”
Prerequisites
To note that this improvement plunges into the heart of mockery, always with respect, but with the desire to push the limits of humor through caricature and derision.
Specific requirement(s) for the course
Provide loose, comfortable clothing …. perhaps an extra t-shirt.
Accessibility: Please contact us with any accommodations you may require in order to participate in this development workshop. We will be happy to accommodate you.
