“Body and Sound” Workshop with AMÉLIE RAJOTTE/LORGANISME
Lorganisme presents a workshop on the theme of the interaction between dance and sound performance. Facilitated by choreographer Amélie Rajotte, this workshop offers two days of training, a creative laboratory and an in-depth reflection on the dialogue between dance and music performance. The activities will be complemented by discussions with a sound artist who will share their insights and experiences on the interaction between the two disciplines. With the participation of musician Olivier Landry-Gagnon.
Prerequisites
Working with the body as a performative tool. A good understanding of French.

Amélie Rajotte
Amélie Rajotte has worked as a contemporary dance artist since 2006. Her works include La disparition des choses (2021), La possibilité d’une tragédie (2019), Carnaval (2014), The Squirrel and the Mirror (2011). In parallel to her creations, Amélie has collaborated as a performer in various performance, research, and creation projects, including those of Karine Denault, Sylvain Émard, Lynda Gaudreau, Hélène Langevin, Karina Iraola, Lara Kramer, Brice Noeser, Pierre-Paul Savoie, and Jessica Serli. A graduate of the Conservatoire National de Grenoble, she also completed a State Diploma in Contemporary Dance at Cefedem de Normandie and a master’s degree in 2017 at the Dance Department of the Université du Québec à Montréal. Amélie is a co-founding member of Lorganisme. Amélie has an interdisciplinary approach marked by philosophical concerns and her fascination with human behaviour. She is interested in body archives and the plastic potential of the body in relation to its environment.
